SPRING ROLLS
prodigal spring
returns in glory.
rain cleansing --
spurting growth
along their tentacles,
brambles are marching on.
No longer Christmas
but spruce tree
still adorned.
yesterseason's echinacea
extolls stolid impression,
of past glory --
farm truck,
speaks of an other time,
an other America.
rusty metal,
decaying wood.
new growth --
rusty hieroglyphs
scar Detroit's creation,
slipping into irrelevance--
Survivor of
horrrid winter
worshipping Gods of Spring
bramble wearing
a necklace of rain drops,
until a bird perches --
unfolding
their golden attire,
daffodils exult --
Dancing in the wind,
Queens of the garden.
Winter moving to Australia.
Crocuses,
garden criers,
confirm the advent
of a new season.
